CURRICULUM A: ASSIST

Curriculum A: "Assist" is a monthly parent engagement program designed to build strong home-school connections and equip parents with practical tools to support their child’s academic and personal success. Each month focuses on a timely and relevant topic, ranging from school readiness and attendance to literacy, test preparation, and STEM exploration. The curriculum includes interactive sessions like “Cooking Up Academics” and “Heart to Heart,” promoting fun, hands-on learning and communication strategies. The year concludes with guidance on preventing summer learning loss, helping families stay engaged year-round.

Included in the purchase of a full year's curriculum for each month: the lesson for the month, which includes the key ideas "Keys" in English and Spanish, an interactive game "A Parent Parties Game" in English and Spanish, a home extension "Go The Extra Mile", the coordinator manual, and additional pages such as sign-in sheets and agendas.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER: “Ready, Set, Go!” - an introduction to parent engagement and why it matters

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER: “Get Engaged” - practical tips on how to engage at school and build relationships at the school

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER: “Count Me In” - the importance of school attendance and being on time

NOVEMBER/MARCH: “Read to Succeed” - the importance of reading to and with your child

DECEMBER: “Cooking Up Academics” - a fun holiday theme that emphasizes how parents can promote math and literacy through cooking 

JANUARY: “New Year Refresh” - a focus on goal setting and living a healthy lifestyle as a family

FEBRUARY: “Heart to Heart” - teaches effective communication between parent and child

MARCH/APRIL: “Don't Sweat The Test” - tips for parents about how to help their children prepare for standardized testing

APRIL/MAY: “STEM Conversations” - encouraging parents to explore STEM with their children

MAY/JUNE: “Stay Sharp” - explaining summer learning loss and helping parents keep their kids sharp over the summer
